New record at our raptor-hide near Molde

Yesterday our raptor-hide near Molde had raptors on the bait constantly the whole day. The Golden Eagle came down even before sunrise, and besides of that - three adult Goshawks and 3 White-tailed Eagles visited the bait during the day.

Parrot Crossbills, White-backed Woodpecker, good numbers of Slavonian Grebes, Great Northern Diver, and a female Ring-necked Duck are among the best sightings from our southernmost destination the last week.

Arctic Eiders in Varanger are back

Our Varanger-guide, Knut-Sverre Horn, reports that the numbers of Stellers and King Eiders in Varanger are increasing. It is dark up there now, but from late January photography with proper shutter-speeds will be possible again.

Gyr Falcon still present at Trondheimsfjord

This winters surprise is a 2cy Gyr Falcon beeing unusual co-operative at Ørin Estuary near Verdal. The bird has been here since september, and is easy to spot perching on poles inside the industry area of Aker.
